    Kookaburra Vapor 6.4 Cricket Bat

Vaporise any bowler with the Kookaburra Vapor 6.4 Cricket Bat in Grey/Blue/Black, a no-nonsense bat with a big middle and sharp duckbill toe. The 6.4 edition has a Pro Shield face for extra durability.

We love bats like the Vapor. Traditionally styled with a featherlight pickup and a powerful mid-blade swell, it’s crafted for players who like to attack at every opportunity.

The significant tapering towards to the toe makes the difference here, shifting the bat’s balance point to make it easy to manoeuvre for those big shots the modern game requires.

Nice clean stickers too – nothing fancy, just a touch of understated class to bring to the pitch.

    Kookaburra

By far the biggest Australian cricket brand, Kookaburra are responsible for some of the most popular bats in the history of the game.

From 90s classics such as the Bubble to Ricky Ponting’s favourite, the Kahuna, Kookaburra bats are ingrained in cricket culture around the world.

It’s easy to see why: not only are their bats of exceptional quality, they also have particularly classy branding, combining clean, modern styling with iconic colours and logos. Anyone using a Kookaburra bat inevitably looks good at the crease.

The Melbourne-based manufacturers have been in business for well over 100 years, originally under the name of company founder AG Thompson.

A saddler and harness-maker by trade, Thompson immigrated to Australia in 1888, set up shop in Brighton, and was quickly faced with a significant threat to his livelihood: the rise of the automobile. Seeing a decline in the demand for his usual wares as a result, he turned his leatherworking skills to making cricket balls. As a nod to Brighton’s native wildlife, he called them “Kookaburra”.

Aided by his sons, AG slowly but surely turned Kookaburra balls into a global brand. Eventually, the Kookaburra name became so well known that they’d use it for all their sporting goods, including bats, with the switch becoming official in 1990.

They remain a family-run company to this day, with multiple generations of Thompsons still involved, maintaining the focus on quality and craftsmanship that’s served them so well for so many years.

    Grade 6

Grade Six bats usually have pronounced knots, blemishes, marks, along with coloured wood across any amount of the blade. They often come with a pre-applied facing, which both protects the wood and gives a more uninform appearance. As with most lower-grade bats, they tend to be made from faster-grown, wide-grain willow that develops in performance with repeated use, making them a great option for practice and casual play.

Please note that these are typical characteristics. While we work closely with our partner brands to provide the best bats for you, we are unable to guarantee a specific number of grains or the overall appearance of the willow on individual bats.
