Founded by William J. Rolling on to 1972, under new owner Jim Davis, New Balance foresaw a shift in the market. Since its release in 2020, the New Balance 327 has quickly gained popularity in the fashion world, becoming a go-to sneaker for those looking for a blend of retro style and contemporary flair. The design concept itself draws from the original running styles of the New Balance 320 and the Super Comp, shoes that came out in the late 70s. Armed with their extensive back catalogue of heritage classics, in 2020 New Balance took on the challenge of crafting “The Ultimate Leisure Shoe”, turning to their 70s archives in particular for inspiration. Manchester designer Charlotte Lee was given this daunting task, and she set about mixing elements from some of their most iconic runners such as the 320, 355, and SuperComp. Taking NB’s running heritage in the direction of comfort and relaxation, the resulting 327 brings signature New Balance details and modifies the 70s aesthetic of its forebears, fusing the original style with contemporary lines and textile elements. Versatile Shoe, Cool Retro Feel

Previous reviewer says ""runs large"". I do not agree. I believe it depends on the width of your foot. I have wide feet. My usual size is 8. Since I did not have experience with New Balance shoes, I ordered both 8 and 8.5. Size 8 was a definite no go, my toes were hitting front of shoe. Surprisingly the 8.5 was still snug (width wise), toes were better. I sized up a full size to 9 to best accommodate my feet (boo for bunions!) 9 was perfect! White and zebra stripe is a fantastic neutral. If you have wide feet, consider ordering several sizes. Luckily New Balance return policy made the online shopping experience easy.

Wore them for the first time and had 3 people comment how cute they were within an hour. So adorable and affordable. New Balance is the best brand. These are comfy and a great fit as always. The area where they taper in the middle of your foot makes a little noise when walking. Not enough to not buy, but noticeable. I am concerned that the trim in the shoe is going to wear and then become a different look since it won't match the other part of the material that makes up the shoe. Time will tell, just a fantastic in style shoe that is comfortable. If on the fence, go for it! The comfort aspect is worth it and then add the fashionable aspect and it's a great purchase.

Lovely iconic design, uncomfortable for long walks

I own a pair of 327 and only wear them occasionally. The design is lovely and stylish with a sleek silhouette and a cool leopard print N logo. However, comfort-wise, it's definitely not for me. The part covering the ankle bone sits quite low and unpadded and so my feet feel unprotected and uncomfortable for really long walks, i.e., on holiday trips where we walk around 20k steps a day. It feels like it could slip anytime as it doesn't hug or support the ankle. For shorter walks though, like from the car to a coffee shop or restaurant or around a supermarket, it's fine and goes very well with jeans, skirt, or trousers.

Within an hour out of wearing them the first time I had 2 compliments! Neutral with a little pop of animal print on the LARGE N is perfect for me style wise. As far as comfort, the words wow these are comfortable came out of my mouth as soon as I out my foot in them and they didn't disappoint as I wore them. By hour 5 my feet did need a rest but that is normal for a new pair of shoes. For me they for true to size. I am a true 8 and definitely wouldn't size up. Not a snug fit so if I was in between a 7.5 and 8 I would have needed to size down. This is definetely the first of many 327s in my closet!!!

These are lovely trainers, and look great with jeans and dresses. They are, however a very snug fit, I’m a size 5 and ordered a size 5, when they arrived they said 5 on the box, which I always thought was a size 38, but after I’d worn them a few times and they were still snug, I looked at the size inside the trainers which said size 37 1/2 and not 38! My own fault for not checking inside the trainers before I’d worn them outside. I’m hoping they will give over time, I just can’t wear any socks with them, so my advice is to go up half a size at least.

I ordered the gray in my usual 8.5 size. The shoes look even better in person. The tread looks like solid octopus tentacles; it flows up the back of the square heel, giving a cool unique look to the shoes. Unfortunately I have to send them back and hope a size 9 will be better. Unless you have a very narrow forefoot, order a 1/2 size up. I have a normal width foot yet my toes are numbing slightly after having the shoes on around the house due to how narrow the front is. I felt this as soon as I slipped my foot in the first time, before even lacing them up. Looking at the pictures, you can see how much the shoes taper in. Hopefully 1/2 size larger won't be too big in the overall fit and will give the needed extra room in the front to avoid numbness and ingrown toe nails from being squished.

Colour & sizing different to my original pair

I bought the white ones with leopard print on and the colour seems to have changed from my previous pair. The 3.5 now seems a bit too big for me after wear too, despite my previous size being that size. They don’t seem quite as comfy sadly. I also have issues everytime I order due to UPS. This time they delivered to the wrong address (a Mailbox relatively far from my house, instead of my home) and failed to return the package as agreed so I had to go and collect it.

This is the first pair of new balance trainers I have bought and it won’t be my last. Bought these for a trip to Australia, as all the walking and wanted a trainer that I could walk all day in. These are definitely the trainers for this. So comfortable and I have had some many compliments from others about the leopard print on the side. I wore this during the day with causal wear and also at night when dressed to impress.
