Founded by William J. Riley in 1906, New Balance started small, producing highly flexible, three-point arch supports for those that suffered discomfort wearing shoes, all inspired by the daily balancing acts performed by Williams’ own backyard chickens as they nimbly navigated the coop. Rolling on to 1972, under new owner Jim Davis, New Balance foresaw a shift in the market. Since its release in 2020, the New Balance 327 has quickly gained popularity in the fashion world, becoming a go-to sneaker for those looking for a blend of retro style and contemporary flair. The design concept itself draws from the original running styles of the New Balance 320 and the Super Comp, shoes that came out in the late 70s. The oversized "N" logo on the side and an exaggerated rubber outsole that extends up the heel makes it one of New Balance’s most recognisable shoes. Armed with their extensive back catalogue of heritage classics, in 2020 New Balance took on the challenge of crafting “The Ultimate Leisure Shoe”, turning to their 70s archives in particular for inspiration. Manchester designer Charlotte Lee was given this daunting task, and she set about mixing elements from some of their most iconic runners such as the 320, 355, and SuperComp. Taking NB’s running heritage in the direction of comfort and relaxation, the resulting 327 brings signature New Balance details and modifies the 70s aesthetic of its forebears, fusing the original style with contemporary lines and textile elements. Resplendent with collaborations and famous fans, the past and future of the 327 look bright indeed.

Poor quality, started peeling after 3 days

Very disappointed. After hearing such positive reviews of New Balance shoes, I bought these trainers for my daughter to take on holiday. After only 3 days of wear, the sole on the shoes has already started to peel away from the shoe. For the cost of these, I would have expected a much higher quality and durability. I took a photo of the sole if there is a way to send an attachment.
