Air in a box. That was the tagline for the Air Force One, introducing the on-court world to Air cushioning technology and forever changing the industry. In the early 80s, having made waves with some of the Swoosh’s most innovative running spikes, Nike designer Bruce Kilgore was tasked to create his first basketball sneaker with the brand, bringing with him a team of experts and engineers and laying the foundations for what would become an unexpected phenomenon. The resulting streetwear icon showcased revolutionary comfort and performance in one package, over a grippy circular sole that was ideal for the court.
Instantly popular with both players and enthusiasts alike on release in 1982, in the following years the original Air Force One would be reissued and rereleased in quick succession to keep up with demand, accompanied by Low and Mid variations and becoming explosively sought-after. Soon, it was a fashion trend as much as a shoe, with consumers filling the AF1-shaped voids in their wardrobes with customised pairs when the latest colourway sold out.

Nice looking shoe, comfortable, toe box runs small

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Air Force 1 is a solid color shoe that was comfortable for my husband to wear. He said it felt fine wearing it around. His only complaint was the toe box was more narrow, which squeezed his toes slightly. He said he would go up half a size next time and see if that would feel better. The length of the shoe was right, just the width that was a problem. The comfort of the padding was spot on however, and he did appreciate the way it felt walking in them. They were comfortable and he had no complaints about that. He did say he prefers a tennis shoe that isn't one solid color, but that's personal preference and has no bearing on the shoe's quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband really liked the look and feel of these Nike shoes. The only problem is that they do run small. My husband usually wears a 11 in tennis shoes and these were too small. He would need an 11.5-12 in these Nike Air Force 1s. It may just be this style of shoe because they are very stiff and narrow. The quality looks to be very good. I will come back to update my review on the longevity depending how well they stand up to use. The black leather looks very high end for the price point. I would recommend sizing up in this style. It may loosen up as you wear them so half a size would probably be adequate. Overall, they’re a great looking, quality tennis shoe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All black AF1s are one of the all time classic kicks. I like the new metal emblem on the laces that I don’t remember from before. Helps give a subtle piece to stand out against the all black shoe. The comfort remains great, especially the padding around the top where it hits the ankle. Just got these, but they feel as quality and as durable as they were back 15 years ago. A little heavy, but if you want a solid feeling shoe, then it’s perfect
If you’re looking for all black shoes, you won’t go wrong with the look, style, comfort and durability of the all black Forces. A classic that still looks great today

I bought these shoes in October 2022, and while still comfortable and originally stylish, they have completely fallen apart along every possible seam. I have only ever hand washed them with a bit of water and a cloth after most uses to remove any light dirt to keep them clean. However on both shoes the leather has come away from the sole at the front of the shoe, the stitching holding the lace holes to the shoe has completely torn away, and the rounded top stitching at the front tip of the shoe had also ripped open.
Really poorly made, bad quality stitching. Disappointing

A Classic Just Like I Remember

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a pair of AF1's back in mid-2000's and loved them but eventually wore them out and moved to a few different pairs of trainers. Getting a pair brought back all the memories of the late teenage years while still being stylish (or retro enough) to wear out on a frequent basis again. Though I've had to trade in my trainers for slacks and dress shoes - I still like to unwind in something more comfortable and these hit the spot.
While they are comfortable they are for narrow feet - so my wide foot can feel a little cramped at times, also be sure to order a half size larger, it may just be me, but I remember the shows fitting a little less snug a decade ago. Still a great shoe and a perfect update to a classic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband is a Nike fanatic and absolutely loves these Air Force 1s! They are a classic design that won’t ever go out of style. He likes that the black-on-black goes with everything (athletic wear or jeans!) and it hides blemishes really well (so he isn’t constantly afraid of getting them dirty!)
He is a big fan of the cushion in the heel that this shoe provides. The sole did feel a bit rigid/stiff at first, but after wearing them around for a bit they broke in and were super comfortable.
He says they fit true-to-size and he would definitely recommend them to friends!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nike Air Force 1 are a great pair of ahleisure sneakers. They’re very well made, have soft leather and a thick sole and are good and sturdy. They’re both functional and stylish. I have the black on black and they could easily be dressed up or down. When first putting them on they felt stiff but they softened up and felt great even after wearing them all day. The only reason for 4 stars is that they did run big, so you may need to size down. Overall, if you’re looking for an on-trend, functional, versatile and all around comfortable sneaker, this one delivers.

Not the comfiest of AF1's

These are some of the less comfy AF1 models I've owned. In comparison to the LV8's, First Use and Premium models they are a 4 or 5 out of 10. There is also a good amount of heel slip with this particular model.
I own the bone colorway which imo is the dopest of this 3 option lineup. Added custom laces to really make them pop. These particular AF1s are quite heavy due to the materials used, I'd like to see Nike construct the AF1 lows with materials other than leather more often. Overall fresh and simple AF1 but not an everyday wear due to comfort.
