Member Spotlight - Pro:Direct Running Club
The inaugural Pro:Direct Running Club monthly round up is here! From PBs to feel good community stories we want to shine a light on amazing runners doing amazing things.
It’s been a busy month in the running world with races popping off all over the gaff and some seriously impressive feats accomplished by our PDRC faithful but first up, this is what it’s all about. Manchester based runner Sadia spreads the love of running, encouraging her sister to complete her first ever 5 mile trail race. Wholesome stuff:
Fresh off a shiny new PB from both Manchester Marathon and NB London marathon (yes, they were a week apart), the mad man Leon Lewis adds another feather to his cap with an outrageous 100km ultra marathon across South London ticking off all 48 SW post codes in the process. Mental. In the best way.
The one and only Ben Felton was back to grace another marathon start line in Copenhagen, the place he ran his debut and also home to his 67:15 half marathon PB. This time, there was a lot more to the story than ‘just’ trying to run fast as Ben battled back from a stress fracture earlier in the year to complete the race in a very respectable 2:27. A lot more to come from the Essex lad..
Making waves in the running content space, our guy Aubrey got the call up to attend the prestigious Adidas Road To Records experience in Herzo. Alongside mixing and mingling with the who’s who of the running content world, Aubrey went on to set his own record at the mass participation 5k running a new PB of 22:08. More importantly, he’s one of the nicest geezers you’ll ever meet. Let’s go champ!!
Hackney Half with HOKA! One of the most vibrant feel good races of the year rolled around once again and in usual fashion, the sun was shining down on 20,000 runnerss taking on the 13.1 miles through East London. PDCR member and lucky winner of our competition Jess, had a tough day out there but persevered to the bitter end, proving that sometimes there’s a lot more to running than PBs.
Fresh from an emotional Boston Marathon in April, Fiona put the adios Pro 3's to good use and maximised that marathon fitness by securing her first podium finish in Hyde Park. Fiona continues to inspire and lead by example in this sport, and we can't get enough of it. What's next Fiona?
