adidas X EA Sports 4th Kits
Remember those sick digital kits adidas and EA Sports collaborated on last year? You know, the exclusive 4th shirts for Real Madrid, Manchester United, Juventus, and Bayern Munich that were only available in-game. Well, they’re back, and better than ever.
Last year’s quartet of concept kits showcased some of the most outlandish designs we’d ever seen, making full use of digital tooling to create four true works of art – they really stood out in Ultimate Team. This year, adidas and EA have gone one step further, dreaming up four even more spectacular shirts that would have UEFA officials recoiling in shock at the prospect of them on-pitch. Anything goes in the virtual arena though, and we’re looking forward to hitting up Weekend League in the Real Madrid shirt in particular.
It’s not all about FIFA this time round however. While there’s no chance of Dybala, Bale, Robben and Pogba donning their respective club’s shirt in the Champions League anytime soon, there’s nothing to stop you wearing your favourite for a kickaround. That’s right, in addition to the digital versions, this year the kits have also been turned into physical shirts.

Let’s take a look at the individual kits then. First up, the Real Madrid shirt, which brings a new meaning to the word “Galactico”. Los Blancos stars like Karim Benzema and Marcelo will be well and truly launched into the stratosphere by the space-inspired shirt, which features a two-tone blue design with white specks – basically, it’s the night sky.
The Man United shirt couldn’t be more different, most definitely rooted on planet Earth with an all-over leopard print design that’s a perfect match for Jesse Lingard and co’s attacking instincts. The physical release beats the digital one here – it’s wild in every sense of the word, and actually looks furry. Mad optics.

Speaking of visual tricks, the Juventus shirt is enough to make you question reality. Is Paulo Dybala an anagram of Lionel Messi, Jr? No it’s not, but it could be if you look at the iridescent swathes of purple, pink and blue on the kit long enough. Maybe that’s the plan: distract the opposition by making them think they’re in Norway watching the Northern Lights. Beautiful stuff.
Finally, Bayern’s unique 4th kit is absolute fire. Literally. Transitioning from a deep, dark red at the bottom all the way into a blazing inferno of orange and yellow at the top – the “Star of the South” fans sing about – it’s a shirt that’ll have any defender playing against Die Roten calling the emergency services every time they get roasted. Special mention for the black neckline, harking back to some of Oliver Kahn’s keeper kits of the 90s.
This is some quality work from adidas, and it’s an idea we’d love to see extended beyond the four mega-clubs. For now though, if you happen to play in a five-a-side team made up entirely of Real, United, Bayern, or Juve fans, you’ve got the ultimate choice of kits right here.
