The Converse Rubber Shoe Company’s first foray into the basketball world, the original “Non-Skid” or “All Star” shoe released in 1917, leveraging their rubber expertise for a fantastically grippy outsole that was perfect for the court. Chuck would quickly become the face of the brand, famously accelerating the rise of the sport nationwide and embedding the All Star in the consciousness of every budding b-baller.
