    As Seen On Pitch

The Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor and Superfly from the Nike Mad Voltage Pack will be worn by all Nike Vapor and Superfly players from October 2024. The new colourway wraps itself around the Mercurial, Phantom and Tiempo series as Nike roll out their first on pitch collection of the new year.

    Bold Aesthetic

The dominant ‘AIR’ branding will ensure that the Nike Mercurial Vapor and Superfly has a strong on pitch presence throughout the winter months.

    Air Zoom Soleplate

The soleplate of the Vapor and Superfly uses Air Zoom technology to provide improved energy return to players when accelerating or jumping on tired legs. Own those fine lines.

    Built For Speed

Nike have introduced a new evolution of Vaporposite, called Vaporposite+ to increase pace and ball control, as well as lockdown and fit.

Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XVI Elite FG

The ultimate expression of speed. Become untouchable on the pitch with Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor 16 Elite FG football boots in Volt/Black.

Fine-tuned for responsiveness, the next-gen Merc features a cascading wave of traction at the forefoot, which engages more of the Zoom Air unit when your foot meets the ground to generate increased energy return.

It’s simple but effective: spreading out the contact area maximises the effect of Zoom Air and keeps you faster for longer. Plenty of grip too – the biggest of the wave studs is the same height as Nike’s traditional middle studs, and you’ve got the evolved chevron and blade studs working in tandem for quick directional changes.

Then there’s the lightweight, minimalist upper, which combines multiple knit technologies in a design that brings you closer to the ball than ever before. It’s the thinnest Merc upper to date, made up of just three layers. Flyknit provides the comfort, Atomknit the support, and Gripknit – that’s right, the Merc has Gripknit now – the control.

If you’re not familiar with Gripknit, it’s a sticky, pliable, weather-resistant yarn that enhances boot-to-ball connection and ensures your touch stays consistent in any situation. When you’re dribbling at high speed, it helps you manipulate the ball with superior accuracy to evade opponents – ideal for Mercurial players.

    Boot Class = Elite

The best of the best. Elite football boots are the boots professional players wear on-pitch, made using the highest quality materials and featuring the latest technologies and innovations. The premium option for players who demand the best possible performance from their boots.

    Mercurial Vapor

Destroying defences since 1998, the all-conquering Nike Mercurial is the Swoosh’s flagship speed boot.

It began with the prime example of explosive pace: R9, Ronaldo. His OG signature boot, the Nike Mercurial R9, was created to make him – and anyone else that wore it – faster. Its lightweight, synthetic construction set the trend for boot design, and the same superfast concept lives on in today’s modern Mercs.

From the iconic Vapor I to the gamechanging Superfly IV and the much sought-after Vapor Flyknit Ultra, the Mercurial series counts some of the most popular boots of all time among its ranks. They’ve been worn by some of the world’s best players, too, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard, Ada Hegerberg, and Didier Drogba joining R9 in the Mercurial hall of fame.

If you’re new to the Mercurial, here’s the vital thing to know: there are now two main variations. The Vapor, which is a low-cut boot, and the Superfly, which has an ankle collar. Some players prefer the more traditional, streamlined fit of the Vapor, while others appreciate the additional support and sock-like feel provided by the Superfly. It’s a personal choice.

Nike tend to debut their most cutting-edge tech in the Merc, so whichever you choose, if you want the fastest boots with a Swoosh that money can buy, you’re in the right place.

    Nike

Nike’s mission is “to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete in the world”. For decades, their boots have done exactly that, being seen on the feet of amateur and professional players alike, all around the globe.

Starting with “The Nike” back in 1970, the Swoosh’s designs have always led the way when it comes to combining style and performance.

Their modern range includes the ever-popular Mercurial for speed, as worn by the legend that is Cristiano Ronaldo, along with the touch-focused Phantom. Or, if you prefer a classic boot, the more traditional Tiempo and Premier are your go-to options.

Nike offer boots for all types of surface and levels of play, including their exclusive Anti-Clog editions with soleplates designed specifically for wet, muddy pitches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nike has really done a great job with its soccer shoes! For the price and quality, they have definitely earn the respect from the soccer community! The design of the Nike vapor are awesome! The black on black makes for a sleek and fast look. I generally go a half size down with soccer shoes but didn’t have to with these! I love being able to grip and cut in the grass so the size is perfect! The lightweight material used allows for you to real feel your kicks! (Something your appreciate as a soccer player) the air zoom used at the ball of your foot is so light it feels as though you are running on air. Spike placements are perfect as well! Great pair of shoes!

    GOAT cleats, HORRIBLE quality control.

It’s a six star boot, truly amazing and something I’ve never worn before. They just became my favorite cleats ever!! My feet are more on the wider and flatter shape, and these molds to my feet, no extra space anywhere. My only issue (attached in pics) is that Nike seems to not care if their product is well manufactured or not. One cleat looks sooo beautiful and the other one looks like a counterfeit. As a LE I expect at least the shape to be taken care of. These are sold out and unfortunately there’s no way I can switch them for another pair. Love the cleats, love the color, but that little thing made my experience not so good. I would love to talk to a Nike representative to check if there’s a way to solve this.

Nike improves on the Mecurial line with the updated Zoom Unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When Nike added a zoom air unit in the previous Mercurial Vapor 15, it was a game changer. The elevated comfort & bounce it adds under your foot is par to none. With this new Mercurial Vapor 16, Nike only improves to their ingenuity. The updated Zoom Air unit provides a plush, but responsive feel when running. When moving side to side, the new extended Zoom Air unit is felt even more under your midfoot. The soleplate is the classic Mercurial soleplate that almost makes it seem like you're on your toes, always attacking forwards. The only downside to this review, is moreso a general weakness for the Mercurial line. Because Mercurial's are a "slim" silhouette, it takes a bit to loosen/break in if at all wide footed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These cleats are far and above my new favorite shoe to play in! They look absolutely incredible with the black on black design, the glossy accents and the blue color on the bottom. The material used has incredible quality which feels strong and durable. The design was incredible! The mesh on top, the glossy details, and the blue scheme at the bottom makes this one of the best looking boots in the market right now. What I like the most about this boot is the feel when it is on. Feels snug but not tight, feels protective but not overly clunky. Feels like I have full control of the ball at all times, but my toes don’t feel exposed. I also loved how explosive I felt sprinting with these on. I definitively noticed a different pop to my speed with these on.

I'm a big fan of Nike cleats, I've always worn mercurials and in my opinion they're the best cleats if you have a thin foot and want a light feel. However, I have to admit that I'm pretty disappointed with these: shortly after starting to play with these studs, the toe of the shoe started to stick to the part underneath and the lack of support even triggered a stress-related injury to the bone in my foot. On top of that, the back of the shoe at heel level is now disintegrated, making the pair really unwearable.

Nike zm vapor 16 elite fg review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the best boots I have every used. I'm most recently coming to the Nike zm vapor 16 elite fg from the Nike Tiempo - a different style boot known more for comfort and touch, but I am extremely pleased with both the comfort and touch of this latest Mercurial. The exterior of the boot has incredible material that is quite adhesive to the ball and creates good touch, and the fit of the boot is very good including in the back heel / achilleas area. The all black colorway of these boots is also fantastic. It's a hard look to pull off - balancing classic and stylish, but the colorway fits this boot perfectly. Having actually owned the original Nike Mercurial back in 1998, it is absolutely incredible to see what this boot has become from both a tech / innovation and design perspective.

Greatest Soccer Cleat of this Year!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These Nike Mercurial zoom vapors are nothing but exceptional soccer cleats. They are light weight for intense long soccer games, yet built well to last quite some time. Sporting a similar design to the ZM’s 15’s these 16’s sport a slightly different color scheme, that wow’s onlookers. It’s an overall black color scheme all around with blue accents at the bottom. When the sun shines on these cleats it almost gives a carbon fiber look to them, which makes these cleats stand out amongst the crowd. I tried these cleats in 3 different soccer pitches that involved indoor turf, outdoor turf and a grass pitch and the cleats performed exceptionally well in all environments. You really can’t go wrong with these cleats. Definitely worth the cost if you are going for style, comfort, and reliability.

    Ground Type Guide

Selecting the correct sole plate for the surface you are playing on is crucial, not only for the performance and longevity of your football boots, but also to avoid the risk of injury.

Using an outsole that isn't designed specifically for the surface on which you are playing may cause premature wear and/or damage that will not be deemed as a fault of manufacture and will prevent the retailer accepting them for a refund or exchange.

    Firm Ground

Boots with Firm Ground soleplates are only to be used on natural, short-grass surfaces that are firm underfoot but may be slightly wet. Designed specifically for this playing surface, they offer acceleration, comfort, and enhanced traction, dispersing stud pressure evenly across the foot. FG soleplates are fixed (not removable) and are used worldwide; wetter countries tend to use them spring to autumn. FG boots are not to be used on artificial ground (AG) surfaces as the construction is not designed for the extra friction. Using FG boots on AG surfaces will invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
