      Nike

Ever since their first entry into tennis footwear back in 1973, Nike have set the trends that define the shoes we see on-court to this day.

Bringing colour and attitude to a sport famed for its formal dress codes, the Swoosh shook up the establishment in the 70s with some inspired designs and endorsements, signing up first Ilie Nastase in ’73, and then, in 1978, John McEnroe.

Confident and uncompromising, McEnroe was the perfect partner for Nike as they grew their influence in the game, particularly thanks to his personal championing of the classic Air Trainer 1 in the 80s – a shoe that likely wouldn’t have seen the light of day had he not insisted its prototype be developed into a full design.

After McEnroe came Agassi, Courier, and Sampras. All three had some superb shoes that pushed the boundaries for technology as much as looks, with Agassi’s Air Tech Challenge and Sampras’s Air Oscillate featuring industry-leading engineering, just as Federer and Nadal’s shoes have in more recent times.

Rafa’s signature shoe, the Zoom Vapor Cage, remains available today with its winning combination of performance and durability, while Naomi Osaka’s Zoom GP Turbo follows in the footsteps of Serena’s Flare in leading the way for women’s footwear. Elsewhere, check out the NXT range for the latest tech-focused designs, or if you prefer something simple, lightweight, and comfy, the Lite collection has you covered.

      All Court

All court tennis shoes are designed to perform across a variety of court surfaces, making them versatile footwear options for tennis players. These shoes feature an outsole with a universal tread pattern to provide the right balance of grip and give on both hard and clay courts, and even grass. Additionally, they often have reinforced toe caps for added durability, considering the high-wear nature of tennis. Cushioning and stability are prioritised to support swift lateral movements and quick pivots. All court tennis shoes are ideal for players who play on different surfaces or for those who prefer a multi-purpose tennis shoe.

Decent beginner shoes, not very durable for frequent athletic play

Firmly agree with the other reviewer who mentions these are not performance tennis shoes. I bought these when I was first getting into pickleball and have since gotten completely hooked. I’m reasonably athletic, playing 2 hours, 3-4 times a week, and after 2ish months, the sole has been completely worn out. The footbed has also gotten a bit spongy, which has caused a rolled ankle (and a couple close calls). If you’re going to spend a lot of time on the court, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. If you’re going to play very casually, these will be fantastic!

Good recreational/beginner tennis sneaker (not a performance sneaker)

Nice looking tennis sneaker that has classic elements (leather) with some modern features as well. Overall, I liked the styling and comfort while walking. However, this is not a PERFORMANCE tennis shoe. First, it is a bit narrow on fit and even the outsole is narrow. That's not going to perform well for aggressive movers looking to cut laterally across the court. You need a very robust, wide-ish outsole with performance treads to handle those lateral movements. One look at these soles with its weird "honeycomb" tread pattern tells me they will not last nor perform well. However, if you are a beginner who is just learning the strokes or you play doubles where you are not moving aggressively, these offer a good compromise with good looks, good price, pretty good comfort, with the weaknesses being durability and performance.

Wearing out too quickly 15 - 20 hours of court time

I like wear Nike shoes due to fit / comfort but I am very disappointed with the durability of my recent court shoes. I have recently taken up pickleball and started wearing court shoes while playing. Since I am new to outside racket sports, I am not sure how long a shoe should last but this is the visible wear after only 15 - 20 hours of court time. I only wear them while playing pickleball on a hard court. My wife has same model and is experiencing similar excessive wear. By comparison, I have a different brand running shoe that I only use for walking and after over 200+ miles on them there is less visible wear. Granted it is a different sport, different motions, different surface, but unfortunately they don't make shoes for tennis / pickleball otherwise I would give them a try. Very disappointed how quickly these are wearing through

Good shoes for a recreational player

Bought a pair of size 9. The first week they were very tight and felt small, then I read on the page that Nike recommends going .5 size up and I had to do that. Overall these shoes are good for a hard court players, based on the pattern it would also work on grass but I don't think I'll ever find a grass court to test it. I inserted my custom made insoles to make the shoes even more comfortable and stable.

I ordered half size up (like the description said), it was perfect when I tried them on. After the first use, they run big, so just order your normal size. The look is good, kinda classic. But the main thing, durability: they are worn out after 5 times playing tennis. They are not durable at all.

      Nice, but didn’t last

Enjoyed the comfort and stability, but due to the stitching of the leather on the toe, they wore out in probably 6 months. Which isn’t too bad for a tennis shoe, but poor construction choice I believe.

I typically wear a 10.5 and have about an inch of extra space in these at that size. Fits very stiff. Will be returning, not sure if i'll both trying a 1/2 size down given the stiffness.
